Corsair 16 GB Voyager GT PDF Print E-mail

Don't worry, you're not losing it -- yet, anyway. Corsair has indeed already launched a 16GB Voyager flash drive, but its forthcoming Voyager GT promises access speeds "up to four times faster" than standard USB 2.0 drives.

Furthermore, this one comes housed in a water and shock resistant all-rubber casing, and could be entirely more appealing if that keyring slot were expanded to open bottles. Nevertheless, Corsair's hoping that you'll find enough to love to drop $169.99 after it debuts at CeBIT in just a few days.

MSI GeForce 9800 GX2 PDF Print E-mail

The best way to think of the GeForce 9800 GX2 is a 8800 that's been shrunk down to 65nm and SLI'd onto a "single" card. The card is supposed to be at least 30% faster than a 8800 Ultra, and will apparently support Quad SLI. The details over at MSI show the product with 1GB of GDDR3 memory, MSI's GeForce 9800 GX2 should get a GPU core clock of 660 MHz, the Shaders domain at 1650 MHz and memory at a beefy 2400 MHz.

ASUS Triton 79 AMAzing CPU Cooler PDF Print E-mail

ASUS announced the new release of 3,200 sets of limited-edition Triton 79 AMAzing CPU coolers. The name AMAzing represents achievements of this flagship cooler in terms of performance, stylish outlook and packaging. Made just for this limited-edition package, every component is protected by Polyurethane foam plastic; and each owner of the ASUS Triton 79 AMAzing will have an exclusive identification card marked with a limited-edition serial number. The Triton 79 AMAzing is able to support Intel Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Quad Quad-Core CPUs (LGA775) and AMD Athlon 64 FX/X2 Dual-Core processors (939/940/AM2/AM2+/1207+). The Triton 79 AMAzing incorporates a nickel-plating copper base, 4 copper heat pipes and aluminum fins. Additionally, the cooler incorporates a PWM function 12cm fan that automatically modulates fan speeds according to the CPU temperature and delivers quiet cooling at 18dBA.

The voltage regulation shield inside the cooler directs airflow created by the 12cm LED fan to surrounding VRM (voltage regulation modules) that are critical to processor operations and overall system reliability. This design effectively reduces VRM temperatures by 10-15°C for smooth and stable operations.

The original assembly with specially designed push pins and clips make fastening the cooler even easier than ever before. The Triton 79 AMAzing can also be easily installed in 2 steps without removing the motherboard from the system.

Sony new Blu-ray players PDF Print E-mail

Now here's a pretty looking Blu-ray player which you can buy in relative peace, considering there is but one commercial physical format left available where high definition content is concerned - Blu-ray. Thanks to the demise of HD DVD, Sony is able to introduce the BDP-S550 Blu-ray player this fall for approximately $500, bringing the following specifications and features right into your living room :- ) Two models are released The BDP-S350 and BDP-S550 models both support BonusView (Picture-in-Picture) featured on some of the new Blu-ray Disc theatrical releases. The BDP-S350 model is BD-Live ready featuring an Ethernet port for an easy firmware update and access to Internet-based interactive content features. The BSP-S550 is BonusView and BD-Live capable when it ships

  • 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema output
  • Standard DVD playback with 1080p upscaling via HDMI
  • 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus decoding
  • dts-HD High Resolution Audio and Master Audio bit-stream output
  • 7.1 channel analog audio output
  • Support for AVCHD discs
  • Compatible with D-R/RE (BDMV and BDAV modes), DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, CD, CD-R/RW (CD-DA format), and JPEG on DVD/CD

Frankly speaking, if I had the choice between the BDP-S550 and a PS3, I'd gun for the latter. After all, the PS3 wins hands down when it comes to versatility, but if you're a purist and don't find the convergence argument convincing, then be prepared to fork out $500 for the BDP-S550.

Not quite a year after Samsung joyfully brought the Spinpoint MP1 into the world, the MP2 has arrived to rightfully take the baton. According to Sammy, the 2.5-inch drive is best suited in desktop replacement lappies, workstations and blade servers, and it's said to provide quicker read / write speeds than the 500GB M6 announced at CES. The 7,200 RPM drive is slated to land at $299, but an 80GB version will be available for a bit less cash, too. In less sluggish news, the firm has also restated its plans to deliver a 256GB SSD by 2009, and if you were looking for even more bulletin board material, Jim Elliott, vice president of memory marketing for Samsung Semiconductor, proclaimed that it was "trying to double SSD capacity every 12 months." Music to our ears? You bet.

A lot of photo-camera's are baing released the past two weeks. Today the turn goed to Sony as they are bringing live-view shooting to its digital SLR camera line with today’s introduction of a 14.2-megapixel a (alpha) DSLR-A350 camera and 10.2-megapixel á (alpha) DSLR A300 model. Both cameras feature new technologies that make picture taking faster, easier, and more familiar for first-time DSLR users.
They both offer Sony’s new “Quick AF Live View” technology so you can frame photos on the camera’s LCD without sacrificing auto-focusing speed common to other live-view systems. Sony’s innovative Pentamirror Tilt mechanism directs light to a dedicated live view image sensor, enabling fast and responsive TTL phase-detection auto-focusing, even during live view.

Eliminating the focus delay of other systems, the new models are equally responsive whether using live view or optical viewfinder. live view during burst shooting, helping you capture that special moment.

Taking further advantage of Quick AF Live View is the models’ variable angle 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD™ screen. This makes it easy to frame scenes from high or low positions difficult to reach when using an eye-level viewfinder. With Live View and an adjustable LCD, the cameras do not need to be in front of the user’s face, allowing parents, for example, to maintain eye-contact when photographing their children.

Intel has informed motherboard makers that it will definitely launch its X48 chipset in mid March, two months later than its original launch date, according to industry sources. The X48 chipset was originally slated for launch in January, but Intel pushed it back as inventory of X38 had yet to be cleared, the sources said.

Some makers, such as Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI), have already announced details of their X48 motherboards, but Intel's delay in officially launching the new chipset is preventing the mobo makers from setting shipping schedules of their new motherboards.

But Intel has told motherboard makers that the mid March launch date is definite, and there will be no more delays, the sources claimed. As X48 will be launched in mid March, the Core 2 Extreme QX9770 that the chipset supports will not be available until then, the sources said.
