Gigabyte is going to make its entry in the gamer peripheral market with a mechanical gaming keyboard. The non-click Cherry MX-linear keys will have a life cycle of 60 million keystrokes.

It does have a lot of features but to summarize some of the features – it has 10 programmable gaming hotkeys that supports up to 103 customizable profiles. These profiles are also able to be setup and changed with the included 512KB onboard memory through the GHOST Engine software suite. If that is not enough for you, the GK-K8000 even includes the C-Media 6300 single audio chip for USB stereo audio for microphone in & earphone out.

The Gigabyte GK-K8000 keyboard will be available by the end of April. Am I the only one who thinks that's a butt ugly looking device though ?

And it's 300 USD. OCZ will soon release its Neural mouse according to a press-release they submitted. The device is essentially a brain controlled mouse, relying on Electroencephalogram (EEG) readings of the brain's alpha and beta waves. These readings, combined with muscle movement and glance (eye movement) readings, allow for a very effective interface.

Furthermore, OCZ has done extensive research into make the system high configurable, which it sees as the key to effective readings and control. Users can configure thresholds to activate certain actions, allow users to have much more delicate control than in their competitors. Also this helps to counter any variations in individual physiology that might come into play.

Like its competitors, OCZ's NIA utilizes a headband to capture its readings. One area where OCZ's design is intended to shine is in terms of computer performance. Depending on their complexity, brain mice can require significant processing resources. OCZ's design is optimized for a multi-core system and runs non-intrusively in a multi-threaded environment. The end result is there is less reduction in gaming performance, yielding a more satisfying gaming experience.

Both cameras feature new technologies that make picture taking faster, easier, and more familiar for first-time DSLR users.
They both offer Sony’s new “Quick AF Live View” technology so you can frame photos on the camera’s LCD without sacrificing auto-focusing speed common to other live-view systems. Sony’s innovative Pentamirror Tilt mechanism directs light to a dedicated live view image sensor, enabling fast and responsive TTL phase-detection auto-focusing, even during live view.

Eliminating the focus delay of other systems, the new models are equally responsive whether using live view or optical viewfinder. live view during burst shooting, helping you capture that special moment.

Taking further advantage of Quick AF Live View is the models’ variable angle 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD™ screen. This makes it easy to frame scenes from high or low positions difficult to reach when using an eye-level viewfinder. With Live View and an adjustable LCD, the cameras do not need to be in front of the user’s face, allowing parents, for example, to maintain eye-contact when photographing their children.

United Keys announces a strategic partnership with Foxconn to produce a ground-breaking keyboard for PC gaming, enabling high-volume orders and world-class quality.

What is it? Keys change dynamically and contextually, greatly simplifying usability and increasing productivity.

Exciting and engaging input technology used in products like the Apple® iPhone and Nintendo® Wii are changing the face of consumer electronics. United Keys offers patented and patent-pending image-based interactive input technology, but with significant advantages in terms of usability and cost.

A fundamental difference between this approach vs. touch screen is that the tactile feedback associated with pressing a button is retained. This promotes familiarity. A second important advantage is the ease of modifying existing form factors, reducing time to market and component costs.

United Keys provides intellectual property and related industrial design and engineering expertise to help companies quickly integrate display keys into their own devices.
